David Lida joins us to discuss his novel, One Life, which tells the story of Esperanza, an undocumented young Mexican woman who is arrested for the murder of her 11-month-old baby. An American mitigation specialist named Richard investigates her case in an effort to save her from the death penalty. When he is not writing books, Lida works as an investigator for lawyers in the U.S. who defend Latin Americans that are facing the death penalty.
